Playing Beuys’s Record is a 2-day performance staged at the Goethe Institut Tokyo in September. Participating Japanese artists – Koichi Makigami, Chiho Oka, Makoto Oshiro, and dj sniff will listen to Beuys’s vinyl records together and discuss on how to create a set of instructions based their impressions from just listening to the sounds. A performance made from these instructions at this event will be documented and posted to the beuys on/off website at a later date. This video, bundled together with the instructions and the actual records by Beuys, will become a blueprint for future collaborations between the musicians and sounds participating in Sounds of Eurasia.
